Somali Rescue Information: The Somali is an Abyssinian with long hair. Somali Cats are very graceful and elegant. Somalis are among the most intelligent, empathetic, and loyal cat breeds. Somalis need to be around people but tend toward independent behavior. Somalis can usually get along with other cats. Somali Trivia: Somalis result from a genetic mutation in Abyssinians resulting in long hair. All Somalis and Abyssinians are descended from one kitten named Zulu that a soldier brought to England from Alexandria, Egypt. |
